This Expedition begins with paved roads but will later lead through more challenging terrains, featuring uneven surfaces, steep inclines, narrow pathways, and rocky landscapes. During wetter weeks, softer and even muddy stretches of the journey are likely. The very top is fully comprised of uneven volcanic rock. To ensure your safety and enjoyment, we highly recommend wearing sturdy hiking boots for optimal traction and ankle support.
Short breaks are included throughout but the focus is on a slow and steady hike. Each participant must be able to comfortably walk for 3-4 hours and to uphold confidence in their footing at all times. Please note that there are no toilets located within Holyrood Park.
